On this day we propose to discover two of the most charming and attractive villages not only in our region, but also in Spain.
We begin the tour with a visit to the medieval village of Santillana del Mar, where we will walk through its cobbled and historic streets, full of palaces and balconies of traditional mountain style. One of its points of interest is the 12th century collegiate church. In the center of the village there are many stores with all kinds of typical products of our region.
We will visit a coastal winery on the short way from Santillana to Comillas, where we will contemplate its beautiful vineyards overlooking the sea, learn about the winemaking process and taste its wines.
The next stop will be the fishing village of Comillas. Apart from its beautiful fishing port and beach, it stands out for its medieval areas with baroque style buildings and the houses of indianos. It is also one of the few places outside Catalonia where the modernist style is very present, with abundant works of architecture throughout the town, including the impressive and original "Capricho de Gaudí".
The visit to this village will include a lunch with local products, after which we will start our way back to Santander.
*All our experiences include: private transportation costs, food with local products, guide with local knowledge and explanations in English or Spanish, visits and tastings with artisan producers.
**Duration from 6 to 8 hours. Flexible.
