We will head to the east of Cantabria to get to know its most traditional products and places.
The first stop will be a fish cannery, where the famous Cantabrian anchovies are produced, as well as other delicious local products that we will also be able to taste and buy. Canning is an industry with great importance in Cantabria since the 19th century, when Italian immigrants brought their long tradition to our region.
Nowadays, wine production is becoming increasingly important in this region of the Costa Oriental. We will also visit one of the wineries located here, where we can learn about their vineyards, the stages of production and taste their wines.
Then we will visit the beautiful fishing village of Castro Urdiales, with an extensive fishing and whaling history. We will visit the old part of the town, the Church of Santa María de la Asunción, from the 13th century, and the Castle of Santa Ana.
We will eat pinchos and other dishes with local ingredients.
Return to Santander.
